What it is Claude Duet (October 21, 2026) is a proactive agent that sends a morning brief, watches connected apps, and works on its own virtual machine while you're away. Claude Cowork runs multi-step tasks with the architecture behind Claude Code. AI bots and an assistant for your team's tools, as a service or on your own servers.
Available in Europe Duet: no, US only during its research preview. Cowork: on the desktop app on every paid plan, and on web and mobile on Pro, Max, Team (beta), and Enterprise; no regional limit is mentioned. Yes, on every plan, Free included.
Where your data and the models are On Anthropic's servers. Claude's pricing page lists one residency option, "US-only inference" at 1.1x; we found no EU option, and a public GitHub issue asks for one for Cowork. The app on our servers in Germany, and GPT, Gemini, Claude, and Qwen, all in the EU. Web search, off by default, leaves the EU. Or on your own servers.
Before it changes anything Duet is "designed to ask before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document, or deletes anything". Cowork has modes: Manual asks for actions, Auto reviews each action itself, Skip checks nothing. Integrations start at Read. Changes ask first, shown as they will run, unless you let a bot's changes run; deleting asks unless you allow that one tool.
