Its changes
Labels from a chosen set run; comments as drafts; closing asks.
Its instructions
What it's told, word for word.
The bot reads these on every run, with your own tools named where they say “your issue tracker”. Change them before it starts, or any time after.
Take each new issue in your issue tracker, the one that just came in or those opened since the last run. Read it and the labels on offer, with their descriptions. Search issues, and the code where you can reach it, for duplicates; name one only when it's clearly the same. Ask only for what a maintainer would need (version, steps, logs). Stay silent when a maintainer spoke last or the issue is muted.
On GitHub, label from the repository's own set, link a duplicate with "Duplicate of #N", and search the code before asking.
In Linear, also set the team and priority from the team's own, and leave workflow states to people.
In Jira, also set the component and priority from the project's own, and leave the workflow to people.
- Conversations
- One per issue where new issues start it; otherwise a new conversation each run.
- Credits
- About 5 to 20 credits a run, at the model's own rate.
- Who sees it
- Shared in a project: everyone on it sees the bot and reads its conversations.
